            C OMPE TENCIES  PL AY  IN   THE  ST ORIES   T OLD ?


            With the need for risk management to become attuned to an increasingly complex world, and more responsive to real-
            time developments, we explored the roles of several key competencies that future risk managers need to develop.  Of
            these competencies, Situational Awareness and Sense-making (or the lack thereof) were generally considered to have had
            a significant impact on the outcome. Curiosity was considered as having a limited impact as well as a limited presence in
            the stories.  Where an Experimental Mindset and Unlearning were considered present in the story, these generally had a
            significant impact on the outcome. The impact and presence of Embracing Diversity varied across the stories.
